This month's VIP Spotlight shines on acclaimed bassist Casandra "Cass" Faulconer, a respected performer, recording artist, and educator who has called New Orleans home for more than two decades.

Known for her deep grooves and versatile style, Cass has performed with renowned artists including Papa Mali, Cowboy Mouth, Charmaine Neville, and served as a bandleader for Cirque du Soleil. She has also been a cornerstone of the house rhythm section for WWOZ Piano Night, accompanying legendary musicians such as Dr. John, Eddie Bo, and Marcia Ball.

Whether performing on stages around the world or inspiring the next generation of musicians, Cass embodies the passion, dedication, and spirit that make the SDFU community extraordinary.
